Production Design Program

Earn your MFA in Production Design and take your filmmaking career to the next level. Â鶹ÊÓƵ Production Designers spend two years immersed in honing their craft, from designing and building innovative sets to learning cutting-edge technological tools that bring their vision to life. As part of the production design curriculum, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Production Designers collaborate on at least three narrative short films in their first year of courses and in their second year, they focus on designing a thesis film production and an original portfolio of design work which is displayed at the annual Â鶹ÊÓƵ Conservatory Production Design industry spotlight.

Work by MFA Production Design Fellows

“One of the great things about Â鶹ÊÓƵ was having teachers who were working in the industry. A connection with one of my teachers at Â鶹ÊÓƵ led to my first job as an art department assistant on MAD MEN. That was a well-oiled, exceptional art department. I learned a great deal – how the roles are supposed to interact and work with one another – and got into the union that way.â€
